Who are we?

We are SIFA Fireside, the support service for any adult in Birmingham that faces homelessness. For 40 years we have supported Birmingham’s most vulnerable people through Homelessness Intervention, Prevention and Recovery services.

Overall purpose of the job:

The purpose of the role is to support the Facilities Lead to maintain the effective operation of the building and support functions at SIFA Fireside. The role plays ensuring that the highest standard of service is delivered to all visitors including clients, supporters, volunteers and partners.

Key tasks:

1. Assist with completing health and safety checks throughout the building.

2. Support the Facilities Lead to oversee contracted service suppliers.

3. Carry out small maintenance tasks such as installing/removing notice boards, changing lamps, weekly flushing of taps, monthly clean of kitchen filter, monthly clean of shower pots, periodic weeding of car park, and any other ad hoc tasks required to meet the operational needs of the business. This list is not exhaustive.

4. Maintain stock levels, reflecting the needs of the charity.

5. Must be willing to be hands on to support in other areas of the facilities team as required.
